Jose Mourinho "has already chosen his next club"
Jose Mourinho’s next job is seemingly already lined up, according to the president of Olympique Lyonnais.
The Lyon president, Jean-Michel Aulas, has admitted in an interview that Jose Mourinho was one of the managers who he was keen on bringing in to replace Sylvinho.
Sylvinho left his role as Lyon manager on the 7th October, having only arrived at the club at the start of the current season. He won just 3 of the 11 matches which he oversaw at the club.
His departure means the lucrative job opening is now vacant, and Jose Mourinho was one of the various names which Aulas had been in contact with over the managerial position.
In a telephone press conference quoted by Get French Football News, Aulas said: “We had some fairly flattering exchanges over SMS. It was nice for everyone. He did not accept our proposal to meet because he has already chosen another club.”
Mourinho’s next destination, however, remains out of the public domain, his stint at Manchester United being his last job on the touchline.
Reports have suggested that Mourinho is awaiting a return to English football. though with no top-flight vacancies available in the English game right now, it does not line up with the comments made by the Lyon president.
