Benfica to complete signing of Juventus graduate and Leganés midfielder
Benfica are to sign Brazilian midfielder Gabriel from La Liga club Leganés.
Having been loaned out to several Italian sides from his academy team Juventus, he transferred in a permanent deal to Leganés in 2016 after a successful loan spell the season before.
He has subsequently racked up 111 appearances for the Spanish club in all competitions, 63 of which have come in La Liga. He also featured in 76 Serie B matches for several different clubs before moving to Leganés.
Despite having already gained a huge level of top-level experience in both Spain and Italy, Gabriel is still only 24, and the move could prove ideal to further his development as he looks to start his footballing career in a third country.
