Wolves sign player - and immediately loan him to Sporting
Wolves have completed the signing of highly-rated youngster David Wang from Spanish outfit Jumilla.
Wolves have built up a substantial relationship with the Spanish club, who currently play in the third tier of the domestic game, and have loaned in several players from the Premier league club, including Portuguese attacker Boubacar Hanne.
Wang had played 16 times for Jumilla B team this season, who play in the Spanish fourth division, having spent last campaign out on loan at Josep Maria Gene.
The 18-year old winger has now signed a 4 year deal with Wolves.
However, rather than remaining with his new club, he is moving directly to Sporting CP on a season-long loan, where he is expected to play alongside several promising stars from the country in the Sporting youth team. It should prove valuable experience for the youngster, who will get the chance to play in Sporting’s acclaimed academy.
However, contrary to reports, Wang will not play in Sporting’s B team, but will instead play for their U23 squad, with Sporting’s B team dissolved at the end of last season.
This means that, rather than playing against experienced professionals within the Portuguese league system, he will instead be competing in a a separate youth competition against players of his own age.
