The three English clubs interested in Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius

The three English clubs interested in Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius

Benfica striker Carlos Vinicius is a man in demand, with English Premier League clubs in particular interested in recruiting the Brazilian forward.

Tottenham Hotspur are one club to be known to have a firm interest in Vinicius, having even submitted an offer in the region of 45 million euros for the 25-year old. Jose Mourinho in particular is keen on the Benfica target man, but their approach for Vinicius has so far been unsuccessful.

But Spurs are not the only side interested, with at least a couple of other English clubs looking into the possibility of signing the former Napoli and Monaco man this window to bolster their attacking options.

And at least two of those other clubs appear to have now been identified. According to TVI24, both Crystal Palace and Leicester City have also been looking into the possibility of signing Carlos Vinicius, but so far have been unable to match Benfica’s demands.

Crystal Palace are short on out-and-out striker options and will be looking to add to the squad they already have, while Leicester City want additional competition for star striker Jamie Vardy.

Benfica needed to sell players after failing to qualify for the Champions League group stage, but after the sale of Ruben Dias to Manchester City, they are holding out for an offer in the region of 60 million euros to prise away the player, who is now their most lucrative asset.
