Sporting CP have reached the final of the Futsal Champions League, where they will take on Barcelona in what is sure to be an epic encounter to determine the best team in Europe this season.

Sporting, who will be playing in their fourth final in five years, won the trophy for the first and, to date, only time in 2019, having come runner-up in both 2017 and 2018.

In Barcelona they take on the reigning champions, as well as one of the most successful outfits in the history of the competition since its inaugural edition in 2001, with Barcelona having lifted the trophy on three separate occasions.

To reach this stage, Sporting thumped Danish side Gentofte 12-1 in the round of 32, before defeating Czech side Chrudim 5-1 in the last 16.

In the quarter finals, Sporting narrowly overcame Russian side KPRF 3-2, having been losing 1-2 after just over 14 minutes, while in the semifinal, they secured an impressive 2-5 victory versus Spanish outfit Inter FS, the most successful side in Champions League history with 5 trophy triumphs since 2001.
