Beto set for 30 million euro move to Everton

Portuguese striker Beto is set to sign for English Premier League outfit Everton FC for a fee in the region of 30 million euros.

The former Portimonense star, who joined Udinese initially on loan in 2021 before the move was made permanent for 7 million euros a year later, has enjoyed a successful spell in Italy, scoring 22 goals in 65 appearances across all competitions for the club.

The imposing 6’4 striker has impressed with his aerial prowess, work rate and speed, and combined with his direct running style he has proved a handful for many Serie A defences.

Everton have long-needed a fit and proven striker, with the promising Dominic Calvert-Lewin having consistently struggled with fitness, and Beto will be the second Portuguese striker Everton have turned to this window, having signed teenage forward Youssef Chermiti, also 6’4, from Sporting earlier this season.

Beto, 25, is certainly the more established striker at this moment in time though, and has all the attributes to be a huge success in the English Premier League, having already tested himself against many notoriously defensively solid Italian backlines and passed with flying colours.
