Sevilla in advanced talks to sign Marcos Acuna, Alex Telles' options narrow further

Sevilla have turned their attention to signing Sporting CP’s veratile attacking left back Marcos Acuna on a permanent deal.

Acuna has been a player that Sporting have put in the shop window as they look to regain funds, having already bought Pedro Goncalves for 7 million euros this summer.

Sevilla were in need of a left back after Reguilon’s loan spell from Real Madrid came to an end, and Argentine international Acuna has been identified as the suitable replacement.

Sporting have been hoping to sell the 28-year old 27-time Argentine international for a fee in the region of 15 million euros, though Sevilla may be able to negotiate a lower fee, in the region of 12 million.

Sevilla have also been linked with Porto star Alex Telles, who was integral to Porto’s impressive title triumph last season, but with their attention seemingly turning elsewhere, another door closes as to where the Brazilian star could go.

Telles’ contract expires at the end of the 2020-21 season, with Porto not anticipating the 27-year old to renew. Porto are therefore open to selling him while they still can.

Sevilla are only one of several clubs linked to Telles. Chelsea were also seen as a possible destination, though they bought Ben Chilwell. PSG have also been linked, but they are looking to extend Juan Bernat’s contract. Manchester United are then seen as a likely destination, as are Atletico Madrid, but little progress has been made, while Wolverhampton Wanderers and Tottenham Hotspur could also be in for the Brazilian.
