Carlos Vinicius may leave Benfica this summer

Carlos Vinicius is likely to be one of the major players to leave Benfica this summer as the moment to sell arrives.

After extensive investment this window, with Benfica recruiting the likes of Darwin Nunez for 24 million euros, Everton Cebolinha (20 million euros) and Luca Waldschmidt (10 million euros), Benfica are now looking to regain funds to help balance the books.

And the player that is expected to bring in considerable profits for Benfica is their Brazilian star striker Carlos Vinicius, who is no longer a required asset, with Nunez, Waldschmidt, Haris Seferovic and Gonçalo Ramos amongst the strikers that Benfica have at the club, who could also add another to their repertoire in time for the upcoming campaign.

And according to TVI24, three English Premier League clubs have already made enquiries for the services of Vinicius - with one even bidding 45 million euros for the 25-year old. That offer was swiftly rejected though, with Benfica president Luis Filipe Vieira holding out for 60 million euros for the striker.

In fact, although Benfica rejected an offer of that valuation from Wolverhampton Wanderers in January, the Lisbon outfit may even entertain slightly lower proposals, with 55 million potentially enough to take Vinicius away from the club.

Several clubs are showing considerable interest in the player that Benfica signed from Napoli for 15 million euros only last summer, with the likes of Everton, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool expected to be among the most likely destinations.

Carlos Vinicius had a stunning debut season in Portugal, finishing as Primeira Liga top scorer with 18 goals and 5 assists in 32 games, averaging a goal or assist every 78 minutes.
